Charlotte’s Web CBD Oil Buyer’s Guide

Charlotte’s Web Buyer’s Guide

As one of the pioneers of the CBD movement, Charlotte’s Web is one of the most popular and most talked about brands out there. In addition to being available for purchase online, Charlotte’s Web products are also available locally in many retail stores across the United States.

The goal of this article is to help you understand the key differences between their products so you can decide which one is right for you.

Which Charlotte’s Web CBD Oil is Right for Me?

The Charlotte’s Web product line consists of 4 full spectrum oils, 1 isolate oil, 3 options of gummies, 2 options of capsules, 2 topicals, drops for dogs and 2 options of dog chews. All of their products are now CO2 extracted, with the exception of the Original Formula (50 mg) product. The Original Formula oil still uses the original IPA extraction process.

While all of their products use the same source, you may see some differences between the Original Formula (50 mg) and the rest of the line (7 mg, 17 mg and 60 mg) due to the different extraction processes. The 7 mg, 17 mg and 60 mg tinctures can generally be thought of as the exact same products, just with increasing degrees of concentrated, full spectrum hemp extract infused in them.

One benefit of buying the higher concentrated bottles is a lower cost per milligram. Another benefit is that you can take less oil to get the same dose. For example, you would need to consume 2 milliliters of the 17 mg tincture to get 34 milligrams of CBD whereas you would only need to consume 0.5 milliliters of the 60 mg tincture to get 30 milligrams of CBD.

Do Charlotte’s Web Products Contain CBD?

Charlotte’s Web products are labeled as “hemp extract.” As a result, people are often unsure as to whether CW products contain CBD. Rest assured, Charlotte’s Web products do indeed contain CBD! It’s not uncommon for brands to use the aforementioned terms for regulatory reasons.

CBD Content of Charlotte’s Web Products

Charlotte’s Web updated the labels of its products in 2019 to start showing the number of milligrams of CBD per milliliter. Previously, their labels showed the amount of total hemp extract which included CBD and other cannabinoids.

Below is a breakdown of the strength/potency of each of the Charlotte’s Web products. We’ve shown the equivalent amount of hemp extract for the products that were previously labelled “hemp extract” so you can see that the amount of CBD in those products did not change.
